Design and Construction

As a responsible developer, Sackville is aware of the importance of building energy efficiency into the proposed development where practical and with these proposals is taking an enlightened position.
The development aims to achieve a reduction in carbon 20% below the baseline emissions represented by Building Regulations Part L, 2006.

This is to be achieved by firstly improving the passive performance and energy efficiency of the development, secondly by using low carbon technologies such as combined heat and power plant and lastly by introducing zero carbon renewable technologies, such as solar panels and ground source heat pumps, as an energy source.

This mix of strategies offers compliance with Reading’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and combines to achieve “excellent” BREEAM and EcoHomes ratings.
