Landscape and Public Realm

Central to the development concept is the establishment of a network of routes and spaces, which can provide valuable outdoor areas and create important connections through the site, between the station and the town centre. The public realm, which will be for pedestrians only, will be light, spacious and attractive.

The Central Piazza, an open public square at the confluence of the network of streets, will form the heart of the scheme and its social hub. It will be split-level, with the potential for performance space. All will be publicly accessible and will incorporate attractive planting, seating and sculpture and water features.

The Station Hill project will provide a seamless interface with the entrance to the new train station at both levels.
