Reading Borough Council is intent upon delivering high quality development in the centre of Reading. The Local Development Framework identifies the area around Station Hill as a flagship development providing a new urban community.

This policy framework has been further refined in the Reading Central Area Action Plan and the Station Hill South Planning Brief. Some redevelopment has already started with new hotels and apartments on nearby Friar Street.

By working in partnership, Sackville can help Reading Borough Council deliver some key projects that are under consideration. These are a major traffic-free piazza linking the Station with Station Hill and re-planned bus facilities forming part of the wider Station Interchange proposals including provision for the Bus Rapid Transport.
